Official Xbox Magazine gave the game a score of 8.0, calling it 'a fun update to yesteryearвЂ™s classic, but also a solid platformer in its own right'. GameSpot gave the game a score of 7.0, praising its fun platforming while lamenting unskippable cutscenes. Joystiq gave the game 4/5 stars, calling it 'both a great remake and a showcase for the key elements that make a great platformer'. He can also collect projectiles which he can throw at long distance enemies. Mickey's main offensive ability is his bounce attack, which he can use to bounce on enemies and reach higher areas. Presented in high-definition 3D graphics, the game is largely played as a side-scrolling platformer like its predecessor, although some sections allow Mickey Mouse to move in multiple directions, such as puzzle segments. As smart as Marvel is with movies they seem to have no clue how to manage their video game properties. Capcom games from the digital storefronts and then doing NOTHING videogame wise with Marvel characters except releasing mediocre ports of Deadpool and the Ultimate Alliance games (I guess you can count the Lego and Disney Infinity games too, though they're aimed at a different audience). Of course it's nowhere near as bad as Marvel yanking the Marvel vs. If anything it keeps Mickey Mouse at least slightly more relevant, though that's pretty negligible too. This is not a universally panned game that tarnishes the brand, and its availability won't make future Mickey Mouse games less desirable. While I understand why Disney would do it, I think the reasons are stupid. Worth noting that it was also made backwards compatible for Xbox One, which means that if you buy it on 360 you will be able to play it on the One, and given what Microsoft has said it seems likely it will be playable on future iterations of Xbox hardware.
